Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 2026

We're a small indie team building Madness Afloat. We're not a big corporation, and this privacy policy reflects that — we'll be straight with you about what we collect, why, and what we do with it. Short version: we collect as little as possible and we don't sell anything to anyone.

What We Collect

When you download the beta, we may collect basic technical information to help us fix bugs and improve the game — things like your operating system version, crash logs, and general hardware specs. We don't collect your name, email, or any personal identifying information unless you choose to give it to us (for example, if you fill out a feedback form or join our Discord).

What We Don't Do

We don't sell your data. We don't share it with advertisers. We don't build profiles on you. We're making a game, not a data business.

Discord & Third-Party Links

Our site links to Discord and Steam. Once you click those links, you're under their privacy policies, not ours. We don't control what they collect — check their respective policies if you're curious.

Cookies

This website doesn't use tracking cookies or analytics. It's a static promotional page — it just sits there and looks good.

Beta Data

During the beta, we may collect gameplay telemetry (which features you used, where crashes happened, session length) to help us understand what's working and what isn't. This data is anonymized and used only to improve the game. You can opt out in the beta settings.

Contact

If you have any questions about this policy, or want us to delete any data we might have about you, just reach out on Discord. We're real people and we'll actually respond.

Changes

If we update this policy, we'll post the new version here with an updated date at the top. We won't suddenly change the rules on you without telling you.
